Stage West Playhouse statement on COVID-19 – 2020/03/18

STATEMENT FOR DELAY OF SEASON

Patrons and Members:

The Board of Directors has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation very closely and adhering to the guidelines and recommendations from the CDC as well as local, state, and federal governments. As these advisories have evolved it has become clear that for the health and safety of our patrons and volunteers we will, unfortunately, have to postpone the remainder of our season for 8 weeks pending the COVID-19 restrictions. In addition, any events hosted at our facility along with any large meetings for at least the next eight weeks will be canceled as well. The theater, for all intents and purposes, will “go dark” with the exception of minimal staff and volunteers working at the theater as necessary.

We appreciate the support we’ve received and respect the concerns you’ve expressed as we navigate this together. As an all-volunteer 501c3 theater we rely on our patrons’ generosity as our only source of revenue. While current ticket holders may choose to donate your ticket purchase to the theater, should we ultimately have to cancel the remainder of the season, patrons may contact the box office at 352-683-5113 or by emailing stagewest@att.net for other options or with any questions that arise from this statement.
